My signal and download speeds increased. I am pleased with the update so far. It took 10 minutes for the update to download and install with no hiccups. Not bad for Verizon this time.

Thanks for catching my typo. Corrected my previous post.

BUT, now I have since gone to another store, and did the same thing. My phone (with update) had about 4 to 10 dBm better signal strength compared to a non-updated phone.

Hm. Even if one is in the same spot, could it be that two side-by-side phones might not connect to the same tower?

At any rate, feeling better for now.

nooo we don't have to with a Rezound:) I had to run away before i got microwaved:) There's a Petsmart store right next to it there. No wonder my puppy comes home smelling good (spa) and hyper after getting a 50 bars treatment:D

Here's something strange, launcher pro quit working! But not immediately after the update, just when I shut the phone down to switch batteries. I uninstalled both it and uninstalled the pro licence, restarted the phone, re-downloaded and I can't get launcher pro working!

Anyways, thought I would share that...
 
Kind of new with this phone and its updates. I just tried installing it and it shut off after install and hasnt turned back on yet. Do I need to manually do it? Also which app or site is everyone using for speed tests and what #'s would be good in a high 4g area (chicago area)

Just don't kill yourself over numbers, they change all of the time! If the phone does what you want it to, look no further than that. :)

I just got 11 hours in battery, 4g, performance mode, everything syncing and playing games and web browsing on my 12 hour work shift. Prior to the update I was lucky to get 6 hours. Coincidence?

Wow! On a standard battery? I'm on an extended battery and got twelve hours, a standard battery was only good for about 6 hours for me. I already had the extended battery when the update took place. !2 hours is what I got! lol:rolleyes:
 
Standard battery and my typical usage on breaks and lunch. Not sure what's up with the sarcasm but whatever. Generally on light usage I'd be at 20% at 9 hours and 6 hours using as I did last night. So I'd say that's a remarkable increase with an update that didn't even mention the battery.
 
Ok. I previously stated the OTA worked flawlessly, well it destroyed my phone after I restarted my phone twice because of severe battery drain. My formally perfect phone got stuck in an infinite boot loop, experienced FC that I had never experienced before and even worse was the battery drain due to the new VZW bloatware Location Service agent, which causes the phone to stay wake and drain the battery significantly. VZW screwed up again. The only way to get my Rezound to boot properly was to do a manufacture reset. Unfortunately, the battery drain problem still exist because Location Agent can not be disabled even after it is forced stopped. DO NOT INSTALL OTA update if you can. It makes a superb phone bad.

Hey Tx, do you still have the old firmware and if yes, does it have that agent?? (Settings - Applications - Running services (somewhere in the long list))
(Don't upgrade the firmware - we may have more questions :D)

My phone has been upgraded since Friday. I postponed it initially and it automatically pushed the update later that evening. I thought the POS was just going to remind me of an update, not actually push it.

..firmware downloaded on my phone but for some reason didn't install all the way...but no, the new verizon app is not running on my phone. Hopefully it doesn't start the ota again!
 
Thanks for the link. I tend not to usually worry since my speeds seem pretty fast when I am on, which isnt too often. One more off topic if you could? The pre installed scanner (barcodes etc.) Do you happen o know which it is or if its htc's? Been looking for one but dont have a name on that one so open to suggestions.

Back on topic. After update my phone is running really well and have no complaints at all
