Root MD5 Mismatch??

I tried to run the new 3.0 ctmod and the incoming calls wouldnt come through, no biggie its in testing so Im at work and I need my phone so I go to use a backup. But when I try to restore I get MD5 Sums Mismatch... What does this mean? I cant use any backup I have 2.2, two versions of 2.3, 2.4 etc. I cant get anything?? What causes this? Is there anything I can do to get my backups restored? Im at work and I really need the phone, not having a good day to begin with and this is just compounding the stress level for the day lol...

Thanks guys!!

Re, flash the 2.5 ROM.should fix ya right up :)
Ps did you rename your backup? It will not work if you do

This happened to me twice.
Once it was because i renamed the recovery file, and the second time it happened out of no where but i retried it and it worked. How many times have you tried it?

LOL. I got it. You CAN rename a back up and it will still work.

You CAN NOT leave any spaces inbetween the letters or numbers if you do rename it. Well i didnt know that and last week I renamed all my backups to

ctmod 2.2
ctmod 2.3 bare
ctmod 2.3 themed
ctmod 2.4
ctmod 2.5

So I reflashed the phone fresh, logged into market, downloaded my ES file explorer and renamed the file and just took out the space and bam!! Im rocking and rolling with my last backup.

See I learn everything the best way "THE HARD WAY" :D

THANKS!!!

Thank you . That's good info dude . I had read that they couldn't be renamed so I never tried it . Ya learn something new everyday ! :D

I actually had trouble with one of my kids phones I installed CWM fresh and made a backup and then installed CTMod think it was 2.3 at the time. My kid forgot a number they had not backed up with google or anything so told her to just restore the backup in CWM and it would be just as it was before CTMod but it gave a MD5 Mismatch and wouldn't restore. Neither I or she changed file names it just wouldn't restore. I even tried to move the backup to my phone and then restore to get the number but got the same error.

I don't know if the stock prevail sd card is crap and wasn't saving the data right or what the deal is but haven't had time yet to mess with it more to see if I could fix it so CWM works for her.

I've only had that happen 1 time . Don't know exactly what happened . Now , ever 3 or 4 backups that I do , I make 2 . Ya know , just in case . :D

The ability to name CWM backups needs to be added to the noob guide. This is a major enhancement as far as I am concerned.

Embedded spaces. Lol.

Great Job Ford!

As Far as the Mis Match Error, I have had it before too. I think it was before the newest CWM though.

I know that I restore backups all the time now and do not have any problems. I have confidence in CWM now, but there was a time when I was not.
