Help Media not found after reboot

Banilejo

Lurker
I have a big issue and running media scanner doesn't do anything. Media files are not found even though they are there and can see them with Astro manager, etc.

When I take pics they show in the gallery, but when I restart the phone or connect to PC they are gone.

The music and video player apps also don't find the files on the device.

Anyone knows how to fix this? Should I just reset my device? If so how do I make a backup of my apps? I'm running the official AT&T Froyo build.

Thanks.

Whoa 60 views and no suggestions.

As of right now none of the media apps (gallery, video player, music player) show any files after reboot or sync with the PC.

What can I do? Anyone can point me to another forum or section that might be able to help?

Thanks

Try settings - sd card and phone storage - unmount sd card, then mount sd card (taking for granted your media is kept on the external sd). I've been having these issues also and have to remount often and it works hope that helps...

I presume if you're running the official Froyo build that you're not rooted?

If you're rooted, you can use Titanium Backup to back up your apps, and then I'd say additionally something like SMS Backup to backup phone logs, text messages, etc.

If you aren't rooted, I've heard good things about MyBackup Pro. It apparently doesn't require rooting, but having never used it, I can't personally attest to how well it does (or doesn't work).

One app that might be worth downloading regardless is SDRescan - it basically rescans your SD card, which is useful if/when your phone doesn't seem to update after you say...take a picture.

Hope this helps.
