Help Media Playing at wrong speed

Hi all
My HDH is currently playing all my media too fast and there's no sound
I've tried re-booting but no luck.

Any Ideas?

If you have no sound how do you know it's playing your audio media too fast? So I'm going to assume you mean videos when you say 'all media'. What app are you using to play your media on? What format is your media in?
I have no problems playing any media (audio included). For videos I use Rockplayer which seems to play back most formats. For audio I use the stock music app that comes with the DHD.

Sorry i should have clarified, i can see the counter moves too quick, like at 4 x the speed.
And in the video, well you can see its all moving too fast.
To be more specific it skips in chuncks of 3-6 or so seconds at a time.
Using the standard App for both music and video.
Format for video is .avi which has not been a problem before.
Format for music is .mp3 no probs before either.

Thanks for the added info. Do you use, or have you used a headset with your DHD? The 3.5mm plug can cause the DHD to auto fast forward. Try inserting your plug and removing it a few times. I know my 3.5mm audio plug sometimes tells my DHD that it is a headset instead, and promptly decides to call my last called number...

This issue you describe has been reported before, and one of the causes includes a broken headset wire.

One user suggested to download and install 'Headset Blocker' from the Market (which I assume prevents the 3.5mm jack from being able to control your music player.

Hope some of this helps, if not, try and post more details and I'll try and help you out some more.

No luck with inserting your plug and removing it a few times.

It also looks like i have no external speaker as well, just received a call and the phone
did not ring, it was as if it was on silent. I can still use the 3.5 headset (the standard one) to talk and listen to a conversation.

Sounds to me like your phones headphone jack has become faulty. I'm no expert though so maybe someone else might have a suggestion for you. If it were me I'd be taking the phone back to where I bought it and have them check it out (my store is very helpful).

Turns out it was having an issue with my BT head set, it never occured to me cause at the time the BT on the phone was turned off.

Turned off headset rebooted phone and all good now.

what class speed is your micro-sd card.... i found better reliability of speed using the class 10 instead of the provided class 4.

sorry to make this straight but what is BT?

I use Intex Aqua Fish smart phone with sailfish os 2.0 and android kitkat running on it. My media players- mx player, gaana etc., - all show the same problem- the respective media seeks/ plays at 2-3x faster speed....
I hope I can find the solution for it.....
