Root Media process crashes

SJLS101

Lurker
Hi,

Since yesterday I am getting regular messages telling my the media process has crashed, which is stopping me from performing some actions on my phone. I have read other thread so have been through each app and cleared both the data and the cache for them.

Any ideas on this one?

The phone is rooted and am currently running the SuperNova rom (Gingerbread)

You restored any data when switching roms? Did it always do this?
Btw, moving this to all things root.
Will pm you too, just in case

Just started from scratch when I rooted the phone, as didn't have that many apps installed. Rooted the phone about 5-6 months ago and this issue has only started happenng over the last couple of days.

Wondering if I should just try another ROM, but want to keep the functionality of DATA2SD as like having so much internal memory for downloads

Many many many roms use A2sd or Data 2 Sd.
. Before you do that, nandroid backup, then don't wipe, just re flash the same rom.
Anything goes wrong, it's okay because you have a nandroid.

Decided to move from SuperNova to Cyanogenmod 7.2 while doing the flash, also installed Data2SD and everything seems to be working fine.

Noticed a few wee improvement too, such as Google Play now seems to be working better. While running SuperNova auto updates would hang, also if I was downloading multiple items I would have to do them one at a time. Since moving to Cyanogen this is no longer the case.

All in all have to say impressed so far, time will tell though.
