Help media taking 62% of battery

I've had this problem before. Try this as a fix:

Place the card in your PC and back up all contents. Then place the card in your phone and perform a format of the SD card. Then resync all your data. That has always fixed my problems

Bad battery. it can happen. i'm sorry you got stuck with a bad one.

I have been unplugged since 6am and have been streaming music for 90 minutes and I am still at 90. It has to be a bad battery

I wouldn't say bad battery with his media server that high up the list.
I've streamed music all day and not had my media server take up that much of the battery.

I did notice this morning I was off the charger streaming Tune In Radio (bad on battery anyway) and dropped 20 percent in an hour with the Media Server sitting at 38 percent just below my screen at 40 percent.

I'd say try what justpastfinished recommended with the SDcard.

One of the things that really helped my battery was the constant behind-the-scenes data refreshing for silly things like Facebook, Pulse, RSS feeds, etc. I really don't need to those to tell me they've been updated. Duh, that's a nobrainer. So I've turned off ALL background syncing on those kinds of apps, and only have them refresh when I actually turn on the app. That's when it really matters anyway, right? This has seemed to help lots.

But I do have another point: Whenever I check what's using up my battery, Android OS is usually at the top of the list, but I'd like to know what range this should be. I'm a moderate to heavy user and it's upwards of 39% to 65% all the time. What is a normal or efficient benchmark for the Android OS usage?

I just bought mine today and haven't had a chance to fully charge yet. I will tonight. I went out for 2 hours and was at 50%, periodically using it for Facebook and other things and I was down to 50% when I came home. With my X I would have have to turn it off because it would almost be dead. The X I take off the charger at 7ish and by 2PM with very little use I'd have to charge. With heavy use I'd get a good 4 hours out of it. I have a feeling the Maxx is much better than that!

Good suggestion that has worked for me. I will not use a used SD card in a new phone without doing the above. If my pics are already on the PC, then I may not even do a back-up. With a new phone, I like to redo a lot my "stuff."

I know at one time the stock music player was killing battery life. Something about downloading album covers...or something.... I cant remember now.
