Mediascape

I listen to music on my way to work and on the way home. I find it really annoying that when I go into Mediascape, it has not remembered what the last song was that I listened to, so that I can just pick up from where I stopped it.

I have recently realised that the reason for this is that I turn my phone off. I find this ridiculous as my trusty SE W902 managed to remember what I had last been listening to.

Is there any settings that I can change in mediascape to allow me to pick up where I had left?

the only reasoh why i keep mediascape on my cell is because i believe you need it to still view videos you just shot for playback. like if i shoot a video, it wont let you view it right away without MS. am i right?

I don't think you need to have Mediascape to view videos taken from the phone.

soon as i deleted MS, after I shot a video it wouldnt let me play it back... soon as i reinstalled it , it played again

Should be just like a PC with Windows or Linux.

You created a MP4 file....deleted Mediascape which was your default MP4 player. What other MP4 player did you have installed to take it's place?

Install arcMedia or some other video player and next time you select a MP4 file and don't have Mediascape installed, it will prompt you on the screen and ask if you want a different video player to be the default video player.

Don't think it does with the free version. I can't make arcMedia be the default player for MP4 or AVI or MPG files.

Have to open arcMedia and select the files. Maybe there is a work around....or maybe paying for it does it for you.

it never asked me to use RP when i tried to play it back. and even when i opened RP and tried to manually play file it was in super slow-mo.

Once you select Mediascape as the default (put that check in the checkbox) then that's all it will choose. But I just installed Rockplayer Lite and it did prompt me asking to be the default app for AVI files and it does work for me.

Not sure if it works for MP4 files....if that's what the x10 even records....I think it does. I have yet to record anything....doubt I will....

As far as music. Mediascape is o.k. It lets you download album covers. I do agree it's confusing.
.
So, as a replacement, I recommend trying Zimly, MixZing, Winamp and PowerAmp.
.
Of those:
Zimly - Great Interface (you can make playlists) and its FREE
MixZing - Really good, great widgets for the paid version. (and Lock-screen widget) It also lets you download Album covers.
PowerAmp - I like it, and it has the best equalizer in a mobile app, but it runs sorta slow, lots of lag.

You get the lockscreen widget on the free version of Mix Zing now (Version 3 released in December).

I didn't mention Music Player Pro. It's my new favorite after trying it out . I was using Zimly, but it didn't let you select your folders so with Zimly, you are getting a lot of audio files and ringtones in your music collection. Plus Music Player Pro[/B has a skinable interface. I tried Doubletwist out, which is good if you want iTunes sync.

I actually don't mind mediascape, the only problem I have with it is that when I turn my phone off and then back on again, I have to search for the last track that I was listening to then go back into the album and select that track. Do any of the apps suggested restart the last track listened to after the phone has been turned off?

is there any way to make playlists on mediascape? i was trying to today and i couldnt figure it out... not sure if i just cant figure it out or if it just isnt an option
