Mega Jump VS Hyper Jump?

I've been waiting for Mega Jump (GetSet Games) to make its way over the the Android ever since the dev mentioned it on his website: Mega Jump (It's on the market now, actually. 12/22/10) http://www.appbrain.com/app/mega-jump/com.getsetgames.megajump

Then to my surprise (and enjoyment) I see this on the market by Camel Games:
Hyper Jump

Pretty similar looking, eh? :o
 
I just downloaded it and it's a fun game. The textures remind me of little big planet. If someone else tries this let me know what it sounds like he's saying once in a while....sounds like "mother f**ker".
 
i have tried hyper jump and i do like, but there is sooo many games is same like: doodle jump, geo-jump and the others which i cant remember but they kind of the same thing, arent they??

I agree that they all have similar gameplay themes. But in Hyper/Megajump you collect coins and power-ups to make your character jump higher.

Plus the graphics look VERY similar. Just look at the main character, coins, UI setup. It's not just a "ball" like in Geo-jump or "Happy Face Ball" like Papi-Jump.
 
been playing hyper jump past couple of days, watching the video of mega jump, they are VERY similar.

unless the video isn't showing everythig, hyper jump has more variety of power ups, and the gfx look slightly better to me.

But VERY similar, be interesting to know where camel games got the idea.

I don't think there is a question of where they got the idea. The game is practically the same game as a previous version of Mega Jump (for iPhone/iPod touch). The gameplay and power ups are the same - just with different graphics.

Just look at another game Camel games has put out: Flight Director. Its pretty much the same thing as Flight Control for iPhone. Camel Games are just taking things that do well on iPhone and making their own version for Android.

Is this wrong? I don't know, but when Mega Jump's Android version comes out - thats the one I'll be buying. I don't want to reward Camel Games for stealing someone else's idea...
 
at the end of the day, i think it comes down to the fact that they gave me the opportunity to play these games when the iphone dev didn;t care about me.

it doesn't sit exactly right with me seeing just how similar they are. But then agai, it may push the original dev to make their games even better!
 
Hyper Jump is so addicting. My kids have iPod touch and play Mega Jump. Yes, they're super similar, but I like Hyper Jump better.
 
They are similar , but mega jump got those points system where you collect coins to unlock characters/levels .. kinda gives a purpose to play :P

and in mega jump the levels are not just a background change , the elements changes with blocks and stuff

I still love hyper jump though, the game I played most on ma phone XD

Mega jump has 10 levels, more varied obstacles on your way up the map, and is free. Hyper jump as one or two extra power ups and more characters.

I've noticed that the latest Megajump has alot of other cool gameplay elements added that Hyperjump does not.

And I can't beleive it's FINALLY coming to android!

I remember when Megajump just had the coins and a few power-ups.
 
These Cemel games are so similar, or just say copy from others..

MX Moto, Hyper Jump, Flight Director
