Help Melted micro USB connection

Hi guys.

One of my friends awoke to smell and see his usb connection melting on his S4 GTI9505.

On my advice he emailed Sammy and they have asked to send it back to them, a courier is collecting in a couple of days.

My question is, how can i flash stock back onto his phone if his USB connection is bust.

I was thinking mobile odin, but i always got soft bricks with it, so i am aprehensive to use this.

He is currently running cyanogen mod, and i think it would be best to go back to stock prior to it going back to Samsung.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers buddy, but you might want to read my original post.

The Phone has a custom rom installed, resetting the phone will do nothing to solve the problem.

Personally i was thinking of wireless ADB but i have never needed to use it.

Thankfully, i managed to flash stock rom the tradition way, although the USB cable and phone could not be moved once connected.

I should have taken a picture of it to post online, but heyho.

Fingers crossed he gets it replaced.
