Root Memory available...

Just recently jumped in with both feet and rooted / flashed my stock Desire GSM.

I applied Revolution 3D Data++ v1.5 (Android 2.3.5 with Sense 3.0), after creating appropriate partition.

After I ran into a "insufficient storage" error when trying to install an app (MightyText) (which I resolved by (i) clearing my Dalvik cache, (ii) removing the market app updates) it raised another question:

How much memory do I actually have?
When I open:
(1) Task Manager: Shows "Total 404Mb Used 273Mb Free 131Mb"
(2) Manage Apps (info in footer): When in "Running" shows "60Mb used / 297Mb free", when in "All" shows "135Mb used / 13Mb free"

Which one is it?

More reliable to download an app called Quick System Info, then write out what is says there

Thanks. The suggested app has passed back more meaningful data.

However, I am now confused... my "internal storage" is reported as "Total: 148Mb Free:6.81Mb", with "Memory" reported as 125Mb free.

How can I free up some "internal storage"?

I am suffering from a "Insufficient Storage available" error message almost every time I attempt to install an app from the Market!

have you moved davlik cache to sd card?

Edit: Also what does system cache and A2SD storage say?

I see Data++ in the ROM name, which suggests the version you installed may not be optimised for the stock hboot. Can't check the ROM thread ATM but it might be worth looking to see whether there is a "stock" version of it.

Not sure if Davlik cache is on SD or not. I just cleared (from boot menu) in accordance to a few posts I had read in this forum, and then restarted phone.

"System cache" reading Total:202Mb Free:167Mb
"A2SD Storage" reading Total:1.44Gb Free:1.05Gb

Note: I just deleted a couple of apps, with my internal Storage now reading 12.43Mb free. When trying to install Flash 10.1 apk directly from SD, I get an "Out of space" error!

I applied alpharev, hence presume my hboot is no longer "stock"?
