memory card htc hero

first i will apologise if someone has allready posted something about this how big a memory card can i fit carphone whorehouse say up to 32 gig but 3 say up to 8 i wanna put music and films on it to watch while im workin nights

Well, 3 are talking rot - I (and many others) are using 16GB cards happily in our Heros.

CPW are nearer the mark, in that the Hero's hardware will support 32GB cards. However that capacity isn't generally available yet, although I keep hearing that they will hit the market "rsn".

I was in a 3 shop yesterday and asked this very question and they advised 16Gb to me.

Looks like some sales staff are better informed than others.

On a side note I am going the the stock 2Gb card that comes with the Hero but I was wondering if the phone will use any of this storage or will it just use internal storage ie will I have all 2Gb for photos/music/video etc?

The latter mostly. Some apps store data on the card but the apps themselves install to internal memory.
