Help Memory Card Question

Hello,

I recently bought the HTC Incredible S, using it for awhile now I decided I want to put music and videos on the 8 gb micro sd card it came with, only to find that there is 1.48 gb left out of 8 gb? I deleted everything off the card except some pictures and it still says 1.48 gb remaining, there is only a handful of pictures (Not possible to take up 7 gb of storage)... any help? I also checked on my phones SD and Phone storage information it also says the same thing.

Any ideas?

Have you physically looked at your SD card on your computer or file manager on phone just to see exactly what's on it?

You could try formatting the card!

Yes I've looked on my computer, except I know that Macintosh computers(Which is what I have) and HTC dont really mix, but I still viewed the files on the memory card and there was tons of folders (Android, DCIM, etc.) I Have erased everything on the card(Except the few pictures I have), mounted the card again and the phone keeps adding those folders, and it takes up a whack of space... like 7 gb worth of space.. not cool. Is this normal.. or?:confused:
 
Success! Read in an earlier post that Maps uses over 4 gb of storage on the card, I shall delete the maps I do not need, (3 of them 3+ gb) !
