Memory card speed affect appsd+ on custom roms?

I am thinking about upgrading my memory card from a 8gb sandisk class 6 to 16gb sandisk class 2. Will the speed of the memory card affect the performance of appsd+ on my custom rom and just general performance on the rom? From my understanding the class speed of the memory card only affects the transfer rate when transferring data back and forth from the memory card. Thanks in advance.

well if you think about your question you answered it yourself, yes it will affect the speed of the apps on your sd, when the apps open there is data transfer backwards and forwards between phone and sd card.

I run a class 4 and there is a noticeable (long) wait when going into apps management.
Tempted to get a class 6 or above, in fact I will... just have to justify it to the wife first ;)

I'm using a class 6 card and there is no lag at all in the apps management, but this can also come from the ROM.
I think the speed of the SD card affects only at 2 points:
1) when you start the apps for the first time
2) when an app needs to access data on SD card

Since these don't happen that frequently (the most apps are running from RAM anyway), the low class cards are perfectly usable. I would however go for at least class 4 card (but would end up buying a class 6 card).
