Memory Error Message

Hey Guys

I have had my desire about 2 weeks now and it is great. I have updated to 2.2 and all seemed to be working fine but today I keep getting error messages saying

Low on space - the phones storage is getting low

and

Not enough storage space for sms

Don't know why this is as I only have about 10 apps installed and have moved the ones I can to the SD card .

Is anyone else having this problem

Here are the apps I have installed

adobe air
astro
digg
Run Keeper
Shazam
Austin Power sound board
Score Centre
Bar Code scanner
3g watchdog
Rac Traffic
Chess
Advanced app killer

I also have a 4gig sd card installed which says it has 2.9gig free

any ideas people?

It's most likely your phone's internal memory that it's complaining about. In Settings | SD & phone storage, check the amount of internal phone storage that's available to you. You'll want a good few megabytes free.

It's possible that one or more of your applications is accumulating memory relentlessly. Go to Settings | Applications | Manage Applications. For each of your apps, check how much memory is being used. You can safely clear out any cached data using the handy buttons provided.

Turning the phone off and on again might help too.

You probably don't need the app killer - it's likely doing more harm than good.

well just checked and I have uninstalled adobe air which gives me 15mb free

Also looked at the other apps and it says that Internet is storing 32mb of data. Is this right. Seems a hell of a lot.

It does sound a lot. Try deleting it and see what happens.

It could be caching stuff. If you go into Application Info from Manage Applications doe it show under data or cache.

The cache is safe to clear as it will just be stuff like images on webpages you have visited etc so they load faster next time. If its data then I'm not sure what this will get rid of, could be stored passwords etc.

I know DolphinHD has the option to clear cache on exit but also has the option to store the cache on SD. It might be worth thinking about DolphinHD

thanks guys

I restarted the phone and now seem to have 45mb of free space. Seems like the net was keep 30mb of cache for some reason.

Will update if I have any more problems
