Help Memory Question

willie62

Newbie
Just purchased a refurbished Nook Color. I haven't rooted it yet, but that's in my plans soon.

My question is this: When I click on settings and check available memory it shows 1 gb of 1 gb remaining. I thought this had 8 gb memory. Anyone know about this?

Otherwise it seems to be working fine. Just wanting to be sure ...

In advance, thanks!

That's probably just the media partition.

You really need to consider adding a 8 gb or bigger microsd card for apps to use for storage. Some apps won't work without one.

A Sandisk class 4 would be the best/fastest. The maximum you can use is a 32 gb. I used a 8 gb for my wife's NC, where I used a 16 gb since I created more backups and needed the room. If you're moving movies, music or other large files to it, you'll want to go 16 or 32 gb.

I have a 16gb card that is showing no space left. I only have about 4 apps on it. it just keeps shrinking . in the past I have downloaded a bunch of stuff but I have uninstalled them all but the space is still gone. now I am left with 20 mg left available even when I take stuff off,but now I have 3 apps and no more space. could anyone please help me figure out how to get my space back.thank you in advance.

Check to see if you have a lost.dir folder on it when it's plugged into your computer. Anything in that folder can be deleted.

O/W, check the clockworkmod and titaniumbackup to see how big they are. (Right-click on each and choose properties. It should say how much each contains.

Once you figure out what folder is huge, we can deal with it.

okay you mastermind I have freed up 4 gb just from downloads. the hugest file was clockwork mod. it is 7 gb. I haven't touched it yet. just let me know what I can for with it. I didn't want to mess up anything. what's crazy is the 4 gb came from my downloads.Thank you so very much.

Go to clockworkmod\downloads.

You could delete everything in download if you wanted.

Otherwise, from Rom Manager... manage backups, you could delete a few if you wanted, but make sure you leave your rooted stock backup.
