Root Memory size enquiry - root

Ive been playing with the idea of rooting for quite a while & I may as well wait for the S3 - rooting my Desire till then, on this condition;

Upon wiping the memory of my Desire i have 130mb of space prior to putting ANYTHING on it

NOW

If I root - will I expand the 130mb of available space ??

- is oxygen smaller in size than htc's overlay...

Rooting in itself will not give you any more space. It will, however, make it possible for you to flash a custom ROM that lets you install apps on a partition of your SD-card, and thereby allowing you to install many more apps.
A more advanced option, when S-Off, is to flash a new hboot partition table. This will also give you more internal memory for apps, but requires more knowledge to avoid major trouble.

To fully use oxygens small size you need S-Off and alpharevs custom hboot table. Just flashing Oxygen when rooted will not in itself give you more usable memory. Nevermind that now.

Read the rooting faqs and guides in the stickies in this forum! They will tell you everything you need to know. Read them all again.

When rooting and flashing follow only these guides here! They work, are up to date, and if you get in trouble you'll get help from really smart people.

Don't use ROM manager...
