Memory & Update Issues

Getting a bit annoyed now with a few separate but not unrelated issues:-

I have app brain which tells me I need about 10 apps updating - the market tells me I need 3 updating - regardless, all the updates have been failing for the last few weeks. Does anyone know why the different figures and also why they download but then fail (ive tried clearing the market cache)

Also, I had plenty of internal memory left, in fact I'd cleaned a few apps off to enable the latest update (over 25mb free), but now suddenly I am short of space again. Does downloading updates and then them failing to install, take up space?

Finally, is there an app that tells me exactly what is using the space on the internal memory - something like astro does for the SD card. This way I might be able to resolve the issue. Looking at a list of the size of each programme doesn't really give me the answer. (Have I missed something that does something like this in the OS)

Annoyingly, I have hardly any games on the phones internal memory.

Regards

Darius

So are they downloading fine but when it then goes to install does it automatically fail? In like 2 seconds or something, like it didn't even try to install?

If that is the case, have you applied the apps to SD trick to allow more stuff to move from internal to SD?

That's what I did with mine, and then after I (stupidly) turned off the phone as it was trying to install a group of apps (they seemed to have got stuck) I could no longer install anything that was split over the SD and internal memory.

I fixed it, unfortunately for you, by doing a hard reset. Nothing else fixed it. I did end up with loads more space though after as the hard reset seemed to claim more back for me.

Hi
No I haven't done the apps to sd thing. It is doing exactly what you are saying though. It is downloading fine and then giving up on the install. This is why I thought my space might be being eaten as the download is remaining there and not being installed.
Anyone any ideas on the memory app (or a way to solve the main problem)
