Root Menu and Search buttons don't work.

They respond, as in lighting up when pressed but do not perform their intended functions. As far as I can tell with all that I've read a hard boot is my only solution. But I really would rather not start over. Does anyone know of a different solution?

Its an LG Optimus M I rooted with Gingerbreak. Android version 2.2.1.

I'm very new to all this so I didn't do any of the other stuff cause when I looked up how remove the bloatware none of that was recommended or explained.

I am also having the same problem. Got a lg optimus m 2.2.1 stock i have had a couple months (was working fine) that I rooted with gingerbreak 2.2.1 from xda developers maybe about a week ago. Deleted apps that were listed as safe to remove. Was working fine for a couple days and now my menu and search button goes off and on from working but always lights up when pressed. Have installed root uninstaller, busybox,no frills set cpu . I am also new to this whole root thing.

Can someone please help.
