Help Message and email notification problem

Whenever there is a new message there will be a notification at the message icon at the dock right? but the thing is even my email icon has a no.1 whenever i receive a new message. any ideas what i shoud do?

i'm not using gmail so there shouldn't be a notification whenever there is a new email but whenever there is a new message, both the message and email icon has the no.1 on it.

i hope i explain correctly coz i really don't know how to explain =/
 
Occasionally it will leave the "1" notification there if you read a new email by pulling down the notification bar and opening that way, as opposed to clicking on the actual dock widget. If that makes sense?

Try going into your mail, refreshing, and exiting. Alternatively, wait til you know you have a new email and then re-open via widget. Obviously try turning the phone off and on again :p

nono i'm not talking about the email..i mean i don't have any new email at the moment so its showing nothing..but whenever i have a new message, both the message and email icons at the dock shows a '1'...then after i read the message, both the '1's disappear =/
 
Struggling to follow your description a little but it sounds normal to me...the '1 will disappear when you read the message as it's not showing 'number of emails' it's showing number of unread emails...
 
omg it gets harder and harder to explain T.T

i've got no unread emails, no new emails..

but whenever i get new messages, there is a '1' on both email and messages..
and after i read the message, the '1' disappear for both..

so the problem is y is there a '1' at email whenever i have new messages?

I get what your saying. But this hasn't happened to me since i was rocking winmo, definitely shouldn't be doing it with android. Gmail is the mail icon your talking about? And it's the default sense message app right?

To clarify; You have ZERO emails, then a TEXT message comes in, icon for email AND text displays a 1, then BOTH '1's disappear after you read the text. Sound right?
