Message history keeps getting deleted

So, I've had my Droid for about a week and a half now, and just starting yesterday, it keeps deleting my message history. The phone freezes up, the causes me to force close my messages and I have to restart the phone in order to get back in to my inbox. Any suggestions?

There is a setting to auto delete old messages after a certain number is reached. I turned mine off.

I set the auto delete down from 200 to 150.. it's not a problem of deleting old messages, it's the fact that my inbox gets completely wiped out.
