Help Message that "Page has become unresponsive"

Hi, everyone, new to the forum, was hoping you could help me out with a question. I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 and, when reading a page on the internet, I keep getting a message lately that the page has become unresponsive and then asking if I want to wait or close it. I can continue to read what I am reading, but the message keeps popping up every 15-20 seconds and is very distracting. This has been going on for a few months, probably, and seems to randomly get more or less frequent. Any ideas? Thanks, in advance!

Have you tried wiping cache and data for the internet browser?

Hmmm, I do usually periodically do that. But I haven't in a while and it's been much worse the last few days, so maybe it could be related to that? I did it, so we shall see, thanks!
