Messaging app FC while on a call

I've had my S4 for less than a week and 3 times when ending a call the stock messaging app has fc'd and when click the notification the phone locks up. Twice I had to pull the battery and one I pushed the power button to shutdown and it unlocked after about 1 minute.
Is this a known bug or is there a fix?
I have a Verizon S4 if that makes any difference.

If you had to install any firmware updates after you got the phone, it may need a factory reset to clean up some software glitches. It's an occasional issue with any android device that gets a firmware update.

If you're worried about SMS/MMS/Call Log, create a Samsung account and it the phone sync that and the Samsung App data (S-Memo, etc). You should turn on photo sync for any of the preinstalled services if you haven't already.
