Messaging App is gone

[Chasingamy]

Hello, a guy I know just got the 2.2 OTA and now his messaging app is completely gone. He can't send or receive any SMS or MMS. And the app isn't on the market. Anyone have any solutions? Thanks!

Have you tried a different messaging app like Handcent or Chomp?
Try to see if you can send messages through those apps.

If not, do a factory reset on the phone.

If he created folders and has some of his apps in those folders, tell him to check around in those folders. It could be in there. I did the OTA update this morning and I noticed all my apps in my folders were all mixed around and I had 2 of almost every app in those folders! I just deleted one and kept the other.
