Root Messaging app

[Erik-_-Chavez]

Is there a way to theme the htc messaging app or download a new one that still shows the message on the HTC lock screen. I would really like it if it was ics themed like the ICS colors. Black & light blue.

GoSMS and Handcent are two messaging apps that should work with most lock screens.

Its POSSIBLE to theme the default HTC messaging APK...note that it is far from easy...

You need to get the APK from a ROM...or using ADB

Decompile the APK with APK-tool or something to that extent.

Edit tons of XML files...

Though I'm actually googling for a themed one...if I find one that works, I'll report back..

Edit: Here's a howto:

Thank you very much. I'll see if I can manage to do this. And if you find one then thank you.
