Help Messaging- Contacts Synced With Google....?

Hey this is my first post! I got my Galaxy S2 today for ATT and i LOVE it.

Anyhow, i entered a gmail account to use the marketplace but annoyingly, when i text, all the people that i have emailed show up in my contacts....Is there a way to stop this? Thanks!

Open phone contacts. Hit Menu > more > display options. Open the google one and deselect everything. If you synced Facebook, do the same thing for Facebook tab. That should leave only actual phone contacts viewable. Then even u send a text, only phone contacts will show up.

I am totally new to android, just replaced my iphone 3gs and was having the same issue. Everytime I wanted to text someone I see all my contacts (phone and gmail) which is really annoying. I had to manually delete all the gmail contacts and it seems to work now.

However, if I go to email someone now, I can no longer see any email addresses since I deleted them all.

I'm trying to figure out is there a way to to set up things so that for phone calls and texts, the only contacts I see are people with phone numbers. I do not want any gmail, facebook, twitter people showing up.

But when I go to compose an email, I do want to see my gmail contacts and email addresses.

Did I set up my phone incorrectly from the start? I'm up for resetting and starting all over if necessary. It's just a little fustrating at the moment being new to Android and figuring this stuff out.

Thanks

That's weird. It shouldn't. That's how I fixed it on my last phone. Are you 100% certain that the e-mail addresses that show up aren't from people who are in your regular phone contacts?

Say, I have my sister's info in my phone. Cell number, home number, e-mail address. But no gmail/google. Her e-mail address will still show in messaging. Dumb, I know. But that's how it works. It will also show numbers that you've told the phone are work, fax, home, etc, too.

Positive. They are merely people that i have previously emailed. I do not know their phone numbers. That's why it's so frustrating as i can't remove it when i text...
