Help Messaging Icon Gone - Uninstalled? S3

[AlexD]

Hi all,

I have a user (I work in IT Support - covering mobiles too) and he upgraded his Galaxy S3 to 4.3 last week. Since then the messaging icon has disappeared. Not just the icon but the whole application to send SMS is gone.

I have checked hidden apps and the applications folder and I can't find it. He has installed a new messaging app (I can't remember the name of it) and it works but he doesn't like it. He wants the standard Messaging App back.

Any ideas? It seems very strange that a main part of the OS would disappear just like that!

Thank you in Advance.

Strange. Usually if you uninstall the stock messanger, 3rd party sms apps wont recieve sms (unless theres a setting like in Go Sms to allow it)
Is it definately not in the application manager?

Definitely. I have checked under ALL apps and I've looked to see if it is hidden and I can't find it.

Do you know anything about using Odin mate?
Think youll have to reflash the firmware to get it back unless he finds a 3rd party app he's happy with

I have the same problem after updating to 4.3 just now. I tried looking for it in my application manager it's not there.
