Messaging is slow?

I text a lot, and lately my phone has been getting slow only during texting. I will start typing something in and it will just sit there for like ten seconds then it will type everything up. What is wrong with my phone? do i need to empty some catch or do something?

could be a number of things. my first question to you is...do you have several long threads? having multiple threads of 100 txt or more CAN significantly slow the msging app. always keep your inbox as clean as possible.
