Messaging Problems

Recently I have been having trouble loading the messaging app on Incredible 2. Once opened, it either just stays on the loading screen or crashes. It will also occasionally crash while trying to send a message. The Verizon customer service claims it is from too many messages (only a couple thousand) and not having a task killer on the phone. Is this a legitimate explanation/solution? While the phone now loads, it still crashes on occasion. Any thoughts?

I would be willing to bet a few thousand msgs would do it. Clean'm up a bit and hopefully that solves your problem.
Task killers cause more issues than they solve. Don't go there.
When was the last time you rebooted your phone?

I occasionally shut it down at night and usually have to reboot it every day. And they installed the task killer for me and I had heard bad reviews so i immediately uninstalled it. I just wasn't impressed with the service there as they didn't seem to know much. Thanks for your input though.

only a couple thousand? lol. Clear the messages, save the ones you need, and also, I personally reccommend using GoSMS instead of the stock ap, it works great on the inc2. But I clear out my messages every week or so, it keeps the phone running well. Otherwise it starts to slow down with too many messages on it, and a couple thousand, yeah, you need to clear those out of there....
