i been playing wiv it again... yikes lost all my settings etc . so deleted everything off the sd card , then pasted the copy that i made on the pc ,. then tried to do a recovery to a backup i made , but it says md5 missmatch :confused::confused:
what do i do now .

No need to ruu - if your ROM is OK it's just a matter of putting your settings back by hand. Or if you have them backed up using Titanium, then restore from there.

If your ROM is not OK then put the .zip on your SD and install again, but that doesn't sound like the case from your description. However, I'm not 100% sure why you deleted the SD, so I may be missing something.

well i used the stupid rom manager to try to do an easy partition , and it said it would delte sd card ,,,, so i let it , bugger , all gone tits since then
:o
i just not sure how to do a partition , so i thought that would be easy ,
anyway , now im in a mess , lol

STOP USING ROM MANAGER NOW!!

It's a terrible piece of software and is asking for trouble. Boot into recovery and do it all manually, takes 2 seconds to work out what you're doing and it's a lot easier in the long run

But you can't partition the card using clockwork recovery (Amon-RA can, I believe, but I've never used it).

GParted is the recommended solution for partitioning cards. Lecter's sig has a link to a video tutorial on how to use it.

Did you get the card partitioned though? And did you copy all of your data from it before attempting to partition? If so, just copy the data back and see how it goes from there.

naa all went pear shaped , :o
will delete rom manager now , if i ever get my phone back , lol
partition seems a right pain in da ass, walk through gives me a headache , but i spose i will have to give it a go somehow .
cant i just partition in windows ,
its all complicated in linux

Windows doesn't do ext filesystems, so I don't think that's an option.

GParted actually isn't that hard to use - once you have the app running and the device (your SD card) selected you just shrink your main partition and add a new one after it, specifying the format of that to be ext3. You can play with the settings and setup until you are happy - it won't do anything until you tell it to go ahead.

However, I don't know about making a live usb with it - I have an ubuntu virtual machine on my laptop, and use that to run GParted.

What's the state of the phone? Can you boot?

Funny thing is, though ROM manager isn't my favourite piece of software, plenty of people have used it to partition cards. Are you sure it didn't partition? What settings did you use.

yeh , just managed to geet t to restore to an early version of a rooted stock froyo that i had , phew , all is not lost then
. anyway i want to use leedroid , with no apps to sd , but when i do it shows very low internal mem , even less than stock
thats why i wanted to partition ,

If you're booted, check the SD card size to see whether the partitioning has worked? Titanium or Quick System Info can tell you the size of an ext partition, though I don't know whether that works with a non-A2SD ROM (never tried).

yep shows a small partition , but i used the non partition leedroid
can i expand it ?without a fuss n bother
on pc it show sd as one drive ?

Which is why everyone should use AmonRA ;)

I think the newer CWM builds support partitioning of SD cards, if not use GPartEd (as already stated)

downloaded gparted zip , how do i make it into a cd ?
gawd every step of this is slow and long winded :(
