Help Messed up music since 2.2?

Anyone else noticed their mp3's tracks have gone a bit messed up since 2.2 update?

Got 1000ish tracks on my 8gb card, all was ok pre-2.2, now there's about 100 tracks in a newly formed artist named Unknown. They've just moved from their previously correctly named artist albums into Unknown artist! Thing is I took the card out, put it in the laptop, deleted the offending tracks, re-loaded them on the card put it back in the phone and guess what, those same tracks still show up in the phone as Unknown album  Any ideas? Thanks.

Sounds like a meta data problem. Maybe 2.2 is reading tags differently. Have you tried re-tagging your files with something like MP3tag?

This appears to be a (well known) problem with the update process from 2.1 to 2.2

Desire users had the same problem way back in the beginning of September and google appear to have done nothing about it since then.

I am not sure if I am allowed to post links to the relevent forum discussions as this is my first post.

The only work-around currently seems to be to re-rip all your cds into MP3 format rather than WMA, which means finding a ripper other than Windows media player (which I quite liked using)....

Sucks.

Cheers for that Troy I thought I was going mad.
Was gonna change my default music player but apparantley they all still read off the same android library so guess the best work-round is to convert wma files to mp3?
