Help Metamorph Lock Screen

Hey all, my GF just got a Vortex and likes, it, but doesn't like the default Messaging app (because it doesn't show message dates and times for anything but the current day) but does like Handcent SMS after I installed it.

The only problem with this is that with the use of handcent the lockscreen shows X Undread Messages until you open the stock messaging app (BRILLIANT idea by the folks at LG).

So, my first idea was to attempt to use metamorph to add another lockscreen but I'm a bit hesitant to try it yet as it's a new phone. The phone is already rooted (z4 root) and I'm working on installing a custom recovery (d/led files, just haven't had the phone to install it) so I'm pretty well set there.

Has a anyone else experimented with Metamorph and the Vortex yet? Just looking for some more info (or if it's even possible to use metamorph to replace the lock screen.

JD (Love my OG Droid especially with all of the options available, but I'm sure the Vortex will have more options as time goes on....)

My wife hates that stupid notification too since she also uses Handcent. I cant believe there's no way to keep it from happening! So weird that it doesn't happen on my Dinc with the Vanilla lockscreen but it shows on hers :-/

my wife has the same issue, we downloaded handcent and turned off all notifications in the standard app, but the lock screen still shows the number of messages untill you get into the default app, there must be a way to turn this off


edit: looks like you can go into settings/ application/ manage applications and then stop the default messaging app and this will stop the notification on the lock screen.
