Root Metamorph problems (R1 theme)

I just recently starting modding my phone, and as most of you know i went through alot to figure out how to flash velocity 0.4. The entire method was easier than i thought, but now its time for the last step, i wanna get the r1 theme over it. http://androidforums.com/ally-all-things-root/157878-mm-theme-r1-tested-velocity-rom-awesome.html

So let me post the steps i tried, and you can correct where im wrong.

-enable USB debugging
-connect my phone to computer via USB cable
-mount and place the R1 zip in the folder labeled (android themes)
-un mount
-open metamorph and unzip/extract and apply

i done this once and it said unable, the second time it kept saying applying but then would say not valid to all steps, then said theme applied. nothing changed tho, and its lame simple solution?

Thats one of the first themes we had available to us and is actually for the droid1, its not working because its not meant for our phones. I'd suggest only applying the framework-res.apk portion of it if thats the theme you really want.

I agree completely. The framework-res.apk is the only thing worth changing anyway. The R1 theme does have some of the coolest notification icons, and it's best to use a launcher theme for the homescreen icons and whatnot.
 
OK quick question, i used metamorph and got the R1 theme, and used the framework like spoken about above, and it looks amazing, but i wanted to check out the R1L theme, so do i do the same steps and just flash it over with metamorph again? i dont have to go into recovery or anything do i? I dont think i do i just wanna check because i havent gotten a bootloop and hope to never have to deal with such a problem
 
Ya, its dark, and the backlight being turned up makes it easier to see, but it makes everything else look so freakin cool I got over the text being black. Soon I will go in and change it myself when I learn how =p
