I have searched this site as well as the web and have had Zero luck. I am hoping that I might get a few fresh ideas from my "Android Family". I have a NON-Rooted phone. Everything worked great for a while. We had purchased the family plan and my wife added the monthly fee for using Metro Backup, without my knowing. I decided to use it for the first time, just because I am paying for it, I might as well use it at least once. Everything backed up fine, with no issues. Then about a week later ( 2 months ago) I got a Need to force close pop up, after Metro Backup temporarily froze my phone up. No details on that, since everyone knows what I am talking about. Anyways, to get to my point, today, its been getting progressively worse. To the point where, regardless of if I am on phone, sending text, using Maps app, or playing Words with Friends, the phone would freeze up and give me the error message. At first it was happening once every couple of days, then it got to the point where it was happening every few hours. I had restarted my phone countless times, used task manager to reset memory , etc. Well this morning, it go to where it was freezing my phone up every 5 minutes. So, having reached the point of being pissed off, I finally called 611 and requested to have the service turned off. I explained to the Phone Tech, my issues, and told them to do their factory refresh/reset. So after a few minutes, the tech said that she cancelled the Metro Backup service and did the refresh, then requested that I should restart my phone for the refresh to take effect and to call back on another phone if the problem should arise again. this was about 10:00 am this morning. Everything was doing great, I thought I finally got the issue to stop, until 20 minutes ago.. about 12:05 the darn thing froze up and the Metro Backup message appeared once more. I have seen the fixes for rooted phones, by removing the bloatware, etc. Since I have not rooted... yet.. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas that I should try. I dont have a second phone to use to call Tech support to see what kind of crap they will tell me, until my wife gets off of work in about 6 hours. Just hoping that maybe someone will point me in the right direction before then!
As a side note: I am going to root my phone eventually, just dont have the time/self confidence to do it just yet, until I read up on it some more and know 100% that I will do it correctly without bricking my phone. Like I said , this is my only means of communication and cant afford to be without it, since its also my work phone
