metro blocking tether!!!!

The update does not remove ANY installed application.
Wifi-Tether, Open Garden, Superuser, etc... are not going to get touched by it.

If you don't watch the agents; sometimes they will make you wait while they update, but they won't tell you exactly what they are doing. Then they give you the phone.
 
OK - I'm about to buy a metropcs indulge for 4G lte tethering to my netbook.

What do I need to do for it to work? Pls list:
Anyone run any speedtests for metropcs 4G in NYC?

Eddy, even with the password, it will not give you internet access. The internal dhcp server settings were mangled by metro, and as far as I know, no one's figured it out yet.
So even if you change the password to one that works, it won't help you much.

Hey Tiede sorry for the long replay and thanks from my part. You are correct our wonderful company instead of helping us use the phone to its full potential decided lets kill this phone potential. Thanks Metro :mad:

And trust me, you're not the first one to be pissed at metro for being such arrogant pricks.
 
Just because the Bryce on Verizon is a mobile hotspot does not mean the Esteem will be.
Case in point: The Indulge should've been a wireless hotspot and in fact the MANUAL FOR THE INDULGE has a screenshot of it being one...
However, metro had Samsung cripple that functionality last minute. What's to stop them from asking LG to do the same thing to the Esteem? :(

Lets just say that if Metro wants LG to keep churning phones that will bring people to Metro they better stop crippling the phones.
 
So I figured I would warn everyone but at a corporate meeting for metro who I previously worked for until yesterday they informed us that as of september 7th they started monitoring all metro usera for tethering and they are CANCELLING accounts without warning for this. I was actually about to be fired because theyr sending secret shoppera to all stores and specificaly ask about rooting and tethering and of course I did it for one. Long story short stop using tethering if you dont belie e me then find out on your own and by the way the esteem is going to suck ive used one already waste of money
 
Um what are y'all talking about y'all have had too much haterade today so we in this forum could care less of your negativity about the phones we have on this carrier so join at&t you'll feel right at home

Bayres I also heard that they won't allow Tethering with the Esteem by saying it will void your warranty. Another excuse to keep Metro Users away from fully using your phone.. Thanks Metro...thanks for not letting us use the phone to its full potential

ESTEEM is a hotspot, it has been talked about many times. release date for that plan is looking like end of october.

That's it void warranty wow I rooted mine that voids it Haha I shall tether on oh yea
 
That's like on any other carrier like verizon it just voids there warranty the only thing they can do is put a data cap on I've had android phones since the droid Eris came out there is no way for them to know what your data is used for unless they use hours of pointless man power to monitor your every move not going to happen.

Correct Confed the only way i see metro will stop the Esteem from doing the hot spot is to charge extra or totally cripple the phone. Either option will not help them gain customers at all.
 
Well Metro you begging to cancel accounts for any reason then i can say is this: mess with your user base and you can say goodbye to those dollars
