Metro PCS Easy Wifi app and icon in notification area gone

After the last OS update about a week ago, I noticed the Easy Wifi icon in the notification area gone. Also, it's not in the apps anymore. I think it's a good thing, since I found out that you have to pay to use these 500,000 "hotspots" and it seemed to use a bit of my bandwith now and then as indicated in the usage list. I think at least at one point a few years ago this was a free service. I called metro pcs up, and customer service didn't know anything about this.

Any comments?

that was one of the first things i deleted after rooting .
i had no need for it.

Do you think I will have to scrap it by the end of the year when MetroPCS switches to T-Mobiles GSM network? Not many smart phones are this small as far as width and length. Even the new LG are not.

i am not sure
i think they plan on keeping the network intact and useable awhile longer
just not selling new plans that use it.
