Metro PCS Kicking us out!

Metro PCS wont let me use my LG Motion (LG-MS770) anymore. Service is being terminated in a month. I don't want to have to learn how to use another phone. I like my phone and it is in good condition. What a waste to simply dump it, especially after paying so much (full price, no discount) for it. Are there any other service providers that would let me continue using this phone? Thanks in advance.

No. The LG Motion is a CDMA phone. Metro is closing down the CDMA network across the country. No other CDMA provider will bring over a phone from another CDMA service (or it's very unlikely that another provider will). Since T-Mobile now owns MetroPCS we need to go the GSM network like T-Mobile has. This has been in the works for around 2 years now. If you don't know the difference between CDMA and GSM it'd be easier for you to Google each rather than me trying to explain it. Your best bet is to take a look at what Metro provides and get a new phone.

What area of the country are you in? Both my wife and I have gone over the GSM phones now, so I haven't heard when CDMA is being shut down here in the Dallas area.

Thanks to you both for replying. I appreciate the time you took to answer my post.

It certainly looks as though I have no choice, but to get the new phone. I'm not looking forward to having to research and rebuy all of my apps, setting up my email accounts, etc. No doubt, this will be a long affair, as if I had nothing else to do.

I understand that the LG Optimus F60 is the replacement that MetroPCS is offering. Does anyone here have experience with it? What is the sound quality like. Some of the online reviews are downbeat on this aspect. Thanks.

You won't have to rebuy any app. Once you've either paid for, or gotten a free app, it's your for life. You may have to manually download it, but if your new phone has KitKat I think it will automatically download one you sign into Google.
