Metro PCS Promotion (as of 1/15/2014)

Metro PCS just posted their new promotions.

Most of 4G phones got nice discount and they popular Samsung phones (S3, S4, Mega) got $50 MIR.

In my opinion, this is one of the best & wide range of discount I've ever seen.

It seems like the best deal is LG Optimus F6.
F6 has instant $100 discount making $99 + tax out of the pocket.

Big 4.5' screen, dual core, 1gb ram, Jelly Bean OS, respectable LG brand, no need to hassle with MIR thing... I think this is the winner :)

LG Optimus F6 | LG Phones | Android Phones | No Contract | Unlimited Nationwide Service| MetroPCS | MetroPCS

Samsung gets $50 MIR discount on popular Galaxy models. For Exibit you get $100 MIR and $30 for Free Form.

For Mega buyers this is not as good as $100 instant discount they posted last year when Mega debuted.

But for S3 and S4 buyers, it's $20 better than $30 MIR they posted on last year.

Check Metro PCS web site for more info :)

EDIT)
Metro added additional promotions on top of previous promotions making the prices even lower.

Optimus F6 is now $79 with $100 instant + $20 MIR

Galaxy Mega is $349 with $50 instant + $100 MIR.

I think they worded it that way so you can't just going in and buy the phone with out it being activated.

You cant buy a unactivated phone from a metro corporate store if there on sale or not. They dont let unactivated devices leave the store.

On a side note looks like that guy in the video that was posted a week ago about an upcoming sale that everyone said he didnt know what he was talking about and called him an idiot knew exactly what he was talking about.

Who said anything about buying from a corporate store? I've been to a few non corporate stores that would sell phones without having to activate them. If they where supposed to be doing that is another story.

Well non corporate stores can sell the phones at whatever price they want and dont always follow metros sale prices so that argument is a moot point. If you can get a phone unactivated at a cheap price thru a 3rd party retailer go ahead. Theres plenty of deals out there but for an advertised metro promotion its pointless.

Yes I see what you are saying but it was more of an observations than an argument.

can a metro gsm/lte phone be activated with a t mobile sim card/plan? Like the $30 wal mart plan?
I heard other people saying that metro phones are sim locked to metro and if so you would need to unlock it but then yes it would work with any gsm carrier.

So are these online only or can I walk into a store and get the same deal. I didnt see it saying online only but sometimes they do that.

many times in store they will tack on activation charge and other fee's you will be better off ordering online. Then calling in to activate.

Yeah was worries about that. I know someone who wanted the lumia she got it with the $50 plan it came to about $108 and she still got the $20 m.I.r.

Sammy I looked the rebate form over closely.

All I see is you have to have paid for your 2nd month of service with the rebate phone within 35 days of activation. That's the standard deal to stop people from getting the phone, sending in the rebate then quickly selling the phone.

I saw NONE of the usual for new customer or upgrade only verbiage.

Time to buy 2 for my parents. My phone's bootloader wont unlock, time to get another one.

I was looking at the optimus L9 but I see that its out of stock online and can only get it at the store. I was trying to avoid the 15$ connection fee.

do you think metro might add online stock at a later time? are they out for good?

I noticed the optimus L9 is 4G, is a 4G lte phone better?

thanks
