Help Metro PCS system update

Hi. I received a notification for a "free metro pcs android update". I downloaded it but have yet to install as I saw some older threads stating that these updates tend to unroot your phone. I was wondering if anyone else has received this notification and installed. Or would you recommend that I avoid installation. If so, how can I disable the notification? Please advise and thanks!

P. S. I have a LG Optimus F60. There isn't a link for this phone on here...

Screenshot, in case anyone needs to see it. Please advise and thanks.

If you currently have twrp (teamwin) installed DO NOT update. Doing so will get you stuck in recovery mode.

I had to figure this out the hard way.

Thanks for letting us know. I do have twrp installed so that would suck if I ever updated, but like I said before I haven't got any update on my phone.

"System Update Available" "Android System Update" What's the consensus here? Ignore it? [I am still using stock, am rooted and have TWRP installed]

What ever you do znjdjshdbsbxnxncndnxnxnbxb do not install it with twrp installed. Doing so will get you stuck in the recovery.

I have Flashify installed. I thought that I had TWRP installed [I searched for TWRP, but did not find it], but I am not sure unless it is part of Flashify? In any case, can I install "System Update Available" "Android System Update" or will I have trouble with Flashify installed and have to uninstall? [i.e. I don't what happened to @hugerichman to happen to me]

You might wanna ask someone on how to uninstall the recovery because it will screw the phone up

@Noobified You want to chime in here? i.e. If U use the KDZ method, can you leave TWRP untouched?

EDIT: If TWRP was installed by Flashify, how would I uninstall it using Flashify?

You all can return to stock and get the update via kdz now http://devtester.ro/projects/lg-firmwares/country.php?country=United+States just search ms395 here it's the new 10G update. I no longer have my laf partition so I can't kdz and my power button is broke so my phone reboots after a minute of being on. If this wasn't an issue I would test out the kdz myself.

What does this update add and can you root after updating?

@TheEmpathicEar no I'm mostly stock, I do have TWRP installed. I may have tweaked some settings regarding the LG updates but I don't really remember fully.

I'm not sure if you seen the part about my power button is broke lol. I can't do anything at all go into recovery or download mode. As soon as I put in the battery the phone turns on. You'll have to ask the guy in the bricked f60 thread who got it installed. You should still be able to root though and according to tribute users it patches the stagefright bugs that have been mentioned earlier.

I'm sure you have seen my last post in http://androidforums.com/threads/e2nam-twrp-2-8-5-0-touch-recovery-lg-ms395.920337/?

I received the same notifications. I'm afraid to install it because I don't want to mess up my phone. I have been looking on here to resolve the problem. Still not sure if its safe. My tech friend said I shouldn't do it.

I tried doing this & it said "disabling will cause your phone to misbehave". Any other suggestions?
Disabling play services will cause other apps to crash and won't run without it. That service handles app communications with different Android versions. Look for a notification blocker (an xposed module) that could specifically block that notification.

well you dont need to disable the service, you just need to uncheck the notification flag and it will stop bothering you.
if you have root and apps like TB or link2sd then you can freeze the lgupdate as well.
post freezing you wont be able to go to udpate screen and will save you from doing any mistake
