Metro store says that they aren't selling/making any more esteems

So my dumbass deleted the bcrm(bluetooth) apk on accident and it ended up bricking my phone(so dont do that! lol). I was feeling lazy so instead of trying to fix it I decided to try my luck/mad skills at trying to get a replacement. To my surprise they said they would exchange it for a new one. However my luck seemed to be off because they were out of them. Metro employees are some of the worst you can come by so it was a bit of a hassle to trust what they were actually telling me. They told me that they dont know when they will get more and being the crappy customer service that they have they didnt tell me when I could pick up a new one.
So then I asked if there were any other stores that had them and the idiots tell me that they dont know where the closest store is. They didn't even bother to tell me where I could check to see if another store had them. They only told me that I had to wait with a broken phone while they wait for new ones to come in(God knows when). They also said that they might not even get any more in period. So I told them that I couldn't just sit by and wait for them to tell me when I could pick them up so they said that they are telling customers that the only replacements now are the samsung 299$ phone which is a HUGE POS. I agreed to take it as a "temporary phone" but they still left me in the dark. So now I have to call around and see if anyone has a phone but my chances look slim to none.
Can anyone confirm that this is true? Apparently they have been getting alot of people returning their esteems to the point that they don't have any more...

That would be my guess as well! The people that work at Metro's stores have been sent company wide emails as to what to look for when phones are being brought in because " my phone won't work " or " I don't know what happened ."

My guess... is they might have thought something was up and just maybe wanted to give you a hard time.

Demarsjcd.. at all costs avoid Metro customer service .. because most are complete morons.. and lie alot. i've had metro service for awhile and i pay online, so i do not deal with any of the peeps that work there.. which is great. I've had the esteem for awhile and it reboots.. but i refuse to go to the store and tell them .. cuz i know they will tell me some BS, that will not help at all and will just piss me off.

I went to a corporate store where i know the GM and ask her of she had heard anything about this and she Is pretty reliable on what she says. She said hell no the esteem with all the bad ones is still the best phone MetroPCS has and will have for a little. so no they are not going to stop selling the esteem you possibly were at a store where no one wanted to do there job like it is so hard that is what i heard

I'm in Atlanta. Definitely not the only corporate store here. I have actually took it upon myself to call all the corporate stores and they are all out. I didn't even explain my issue, seeing that they might lie to me if I did tell them what's going on.

Thanks buddy. Unfortunetly they already have the phone. I agreed to take a temporary phone while I wait for a new one to come in seeing how they dont know when a new shipment wont be in. They said that I could take the samsung craft instead and I said to the lady, "you must think I'm stupid, because while this phone is the same price, but it is a POS."

Thanks for confirming. I can see how these phones are getting low because its close to christmas and I'm sure ALOT of people are bringing them back in for new ones because of the small set of issues.

To everyone, they didn't hesitate to agree to give me a new phone. As soon as I walked into the stolre I talked to the guy that sold me the phone and told him that the screen was blank at boot up. He didn't think twice about exchanging it for a new one. Seeing how I called about 4 different corporate stores and they said they were out, I can believe that there is a shortage. I went to 5 stores 1 being a corp store and all of them have ZERO and have no clue when they'll get more because everyone is sold out and on back order. Thanks for posting this because I was starting to get a little pissed off. I have been to and called many metro stores to the same answer; that they are out of esteems and they don't know when they will be getting any more in...
On another note, I can't believe that they are selling the samsung craft for $300. This phone is the biggest piece of sh$t I have ever used.

Just bought my bf a samsung admire and decided on the esteem for myself (hah!) anyway, every metro I've checked has been sold out so I tried wirefly last night and they had it but I couldn't purchase it then until I put the money into my account. So this morning I go onto wirefly to purchase it and it's gone..typed in lg esteem in the search bar and nada..so I went to newegg and it's the same thing, nada. Does this mean no more esteems for a while or for good? A buddy of mine is needing some money badly this xmas and bought his esteem last month and told me he'd sell it to me for $170. I'm wondering if the manufacturer will void the warranty if he sells it to me? Thanks for any help you can offer.

He thinks the Admire is all that and some, it's his first "smart" phone so whatever, he's content lmao!

I am in a way leaning towards buying it off my friend only because I know he babied it and I usually replace my phones every year anyway. Do you suppose it's worth the risk? I was just saying if you wanted a brand new one. $170 is the cheapest that Ive seen anywhere for a used Esteem. I'd jump on it if its in good condition. If anything buy it and flip it for $230 and order a new one
