Root metro& TMobile merger and qpst/prl

okay so from what I've heard metro and TMobile have approved a merger....so how would affect our prl? is it possible to eventually use TMobile prl's to improve our phones with true 4g coverage? lets use this thread to post any updates/ new prl's for the ZTE avid

Eventually Metro's network will be merged into T-Mobile and apparently current metro phones will not work on the network unless they do an OTA update.

Additionally, it could mean an increase in price but on a better network since they'll be using the metro signal bandwidth to boost LTE coverage.

Which would be nice since I had to travel to Ft. Walton Beach for work and I only had 1x data up there.

did you update your PRL? Im using PRL 9033 (which works off of sprint's towers) and i get 4g and 3g when it downgrades after 500mb

I actually hadn't thought to update it since the merge our since I got back but I'm on prl 2032

Edit:
Even updating the prl, it stays at 2032.

The PRL is the Preferred Roaming List which connects to the carrier's tower. If you're not in your "home network" aka leaving the area, the PRL will connect to the cheapest tower that your carrier pays for aka crappy service. If you have crappy service in your home area, updating a PRL can benefit you by improving cell phone service in that area (which in my case im from southeastern PA and I USED to be connected to a horrible tower in my town but since updating to PRL 9033 (sprint) I get 4g/3g.

I have a problem when I have to select the com port it just says com3-serial how do I fix this

You have to put your phone in FTM mode first (turn phone completely off DO NOT have it connected to your PC until its in FTM mode "turn phone off then to power into FTM, hold power button and volume down button at the SAME time) then when its in FTM mode, connect via usb and open QPST. When you select the COM (i think it says COM7) you select that then go into the service programming and select the roaming button then you have to hit the read from phone button, then when you do that you select your PRL file in the section where you put the file in and then select write to phone and YOU MUST WAIT TIL YOUR PHONE FULLY RESETS, DONT TOUCH YOUR PHONE DONT BREATH ON IT DONT EVEN LOOK AT IT UNTIL IT FULLY RESETS (lol just kidding just wait til it fully reboots) and after its done its going to say do you wanna "save to blah blah blah?" just hit no and youre done. PS if you get an error message after it reboots just ignore it too idk some people said they got it but its not anything important, just ignore it. and go into your settings> about phone>status and then your PRL should be updated to the one you threw in there.

Disclaimer: Im not responsible to whatever happens to your phone only use your carrier's prl updates if you decide to be a dummy and use another carrier you will most likely get kicked off their network for good so please do not come crying to me saying you got kicked off or your phone wont connect to a certain tower.

Mine also stays at 2032 using *228. Maybe I'll try to update it through QPST to see if I get better connectivity.
