Root [MetroPCS] 4.4.4 update

Alright, but is the process in the link a legit way to root? i feel like it is too easy to be true
 
have a rooted s4 originally from metro M919N still running 4.2.2 , but recently moved to my sons family plan on att.
question : will loading the metro update change apn setting for att ?
or should i seek out a custom rom ?

Yes, it will change the apn. You'll have to make a new one.
 
I've been running 4.4.4 for some time now and it's been the very fastest, smoothest rev of 4.x.x yet. I highly suggest it. Stable and very reliable it's great.
 
Has anyone noticed GPS locking problems with 4.4.4? I also noticed the GPS icon doesn't stay on top bar when activated. Are these these normal things for 4.4.4? Also I updated to NK3. It didn't fix GPS issues and I was still able to root.
