Help MetroPcs Admire: wretched 1x / poor Web / unstable downlds / next to no radio

Amazing poor signal in a major CA city. Downloads of any size stop often. Cannot use Market from phone, long waits to even show start screen, while searches okay, takes another long wait to find the app, and will not download unless very small. Downloaded apps freeze often, even highly rated ones in the Market. Popular radio stations and services including Tunein drop out after a few minutes needing restart.

Poor and Good features about even. Anyone else see different?

UPDATE - At 11:00 9.14.11 (hours after I wrote my message above) I noticed my taskbar no longer says 1x. Very tiny, hard to see, yet distinctly shows: 3G.

...not sure if a temporary or permanent change.

SF bay area?

LA?

Fresno/Sac?

Probably permanent as Metro is adding 3G service. Its not very widespread yet, though. I can't wait for 3G here in NYC. I love my Admire, but it sorely needs faster data speeds.
