Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] A little help please

Ok so I tried switching roms to metropolis. Messed up and wiped system and lost my back ups. Phone only turns on an goes to samsung galaxy s3 screen. I can pull battery and get to CWM, i can pull my sd card and plug it into my computer to put a rom on the sd but it comes up only in external . I tried downloading the metro stock.rar and changed it to zip. when I try to install it , i get back a error. E:can't open /external_sd/metro-s3-stock.zip (bad) . any ideas? also im on a mac and dont have access to a pc ... Any ideas?
 
Why would you change the rar to zip. Change it back to rar and flash it in odin.

Or..you said you can boot to cwm. Is there an option in cwm that lets you restore from extsd? I'm sure there is, look around.
 
i changed it .zip because it did not come up in cwm as rar. and i checked for the restore everywhere it says none found
 
Ok. So i do see restore from external but I'm guessing you don't have a cwm backup file is why it can't see it. Which means the roms you mentioned are zip files correct? In that case you have to do an install in cwm, not restore. Choose install and do a clean one.

Edit: that stock rar you downloaded won't work, it's odin flashable. You gotta download one of the zip files. I recommend one of the aosp, like cm or something because they are small, just something to get you running again.
