Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] Boot loop

zoomixxer

Newbie
I'm stuck in a boot loop after installing beats audio from the market. Can anyone point me to a stock firmware for a US version for the MetroPCS Galaxy S3?

+1

I can't stress this enough to anyone, always backup before flashing or installing anything that will edit and modify your build.prop and or system. Plus it is always a good thing to check the Dev web site to see if your device is supported. ;)

There's just stock recovery on this phone.
I can use [Stock] Metro Stock Rooted TWRP by installing with Odin?

No there isn't an odin flashable backup at the moment. You can flash twrp with odin though and go from there.

But first, have you tried a simple factory reset in stock recovery yet?

OK, I have twrp installed. I wiped factory reset, Dalvik cache and cache. I try to restore the stock rom and I get an error: Restore complete. failed. no patitions selected for restore.

Yes. I have the backup extracted on the sd card, and tried it on the internal memory also, tried with the backup still zipped because twrp says select zip to install.

When you chose restore, did you by any chance unticked the boxes? There's one for data, system, and boot. Make sure those are checked.

Edit: I'm sure you know this already but just in case make sure you have it in your backup folder and choose restore. Not install from zip.

If you gave the recovery already why don't you just makes a back up of the current rom so the recovery creates the backup directories for you. After that just flash any other rom

Downloaded again and still no boxes show before trying to restore. It still fails.
E:No partitions selected for restore.

yes, thats the one.

I don't know what to tell ya. I just tested it myself. I'm typing this from it. Works but only uqve two boxes. Boot and system. No data cause it's brand new . Yiu might want to just do what darryim suggested and flash a custom rom.

Ps damn stock keyboard sucks!!!
