Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] Error tarring split files!

For the life of me I can't seem to back up in TWRP. It goes well until it tries to split files than it fails. Any help will do, I'm just trying to back up my root stock so I can begin flashing ROMS.

Thanks

Splitting the files? Do you mean compressing? If so, just uncheck compressing.

I can't think of anything else you could mean by splitting the files cause it doesn't do that.

Thanks for the quick reply. It's unchecked already. I'll try again.

EDIT: Should cache and recovery be checked?

Okay this is what happened:

"Breaking backup file into multiple archives . . .
E: Error tarring split files!
"

Yeah that's a new one on me. First if you're not on twrp 2.5.0.0 then get it. Install goomanager from the playstore. Open it and hit your phone menu key and choose install open recovery script. Once you have that done boot into recovery and simply pick backup and swipe. No tars, no splitting should happen!

The only thing I can think of is if maybe you don't have enough space, is why it's attempting to break up your backup?

It's a brand new SD card and I tried to save to internal memory but it's the same thing.

How do I know if I'm definitely rooted? I know I used the Odin method that shabby put up.

I think you're rooted. Wouldn't have been able to use goomanager if not.

I'm out of ideas. Never heard of twrp making tars or splitting archives. Strange...

Seems like there was only one person who had the same issue as me. I searched google and found this fix:

"That /data/data/com.gogii.textplusgold folder seems to create some kind of infinite loop. Maybe something to do with a symlink, I'm not sure. Deleting that folder should allow you to create a backup."

It worked! Now I can flash. Thanks anyway guys.
