How come no kernels have been ported over yet? I really want leankernel for better battery life. Is there a hidden one for MetroPCS out there that I don't know about?

im not suppose to say anything but one of our devs has a secret kernel being custom fitted for us. we have yet to name the kernel nor to discuss the juicy featurs of the kernel. we will have to wait and see;)

With a dual core @ 1.5 why would someone need a different kernel? This baby runs fantastic as it is on BlackBean. BUT, I wouldn't mind seeing how she does @ 2ghz

Sick, thanks for the reply atleast. I'll watch this sub-forum like a hawk

custom kernels are not always made for overclocking but underclocking as well.also there are custom tweaks that can be added to make your phone smoother than a baby's bottom ;) with that being said if we have the liberty to do all we want with our phone why not the kernel ;) just consider it icing on the cake lolz

say sumtin :P

and im talking about a touchwiz kernel i still plan on doing a touchwiz rom.

+1 also let us overclock the GPU.

Yeah, that's true. It's always nice to have the best running phone possible. But couldn't some of those same tweaks be done through build prop editor?

i dont do benchmark test but shabby asked me to do one to compare to stock kernel and the cm kernel to the faux d2mtr kernel this is what i got.

faux d2mtr kernel : bench mark test

faux d2mtr kernel Smokes them!!!

I would like to also add this is faux d2mtr kernel on on stock settings i have yet to overclock thats the next test, for all you overclockers out there. ;)

I've been working on a kernel as well, based off lean kernel source. It builds and boots with stock CPU frequencies, but when I change the frequency tables I get errors on compile. Still working at it. At any rate here's a benchmark screen for the kernel im working on. (@stock speeds, as like I said I'm working out issues with compiling with over clocked modifications. )

dont sweat the numbers so much man, n4zty just took this benchmark at 1.1ghz and almost matched your score at 1.5ghz

faux has a crapload of enhancements that offer regular speedups as well as battery savings, he unfortunately doesnt have much in the other governors/schedulers department :/

Oh i know, the numbers don't mean much. I just figured I should have something to show people other than words lol so I threw up a benchmark screen.

I think faux actually took some governors out of the kernel and didn't add any. You should add Wheatley :p

im a big fan of Ezekeel's work and i might for a "branch off kernel" but this si trying to get his kernel working great so i can tell him, push teh needed changes and then he can shower official kernels down on all of d2mtr ;)

version 0.0.8 is compiling, it allows the use of NTFS formatted hard drives with USB OTG cables :)

edit:

anyone mind testing these for me?
