I accidentally discharged my battery too much. Now, when i plug it in to charge, a battery symbol pops up then disappears. it appears again if i take the battery out and put it back in. Any suggestions as what to do? Would a metro store give me a free battery?

I think you gotta be patient. Leave it charging for an hour, don't even look at it. Lol. then try turning it on.
its been on charge for 2 hours...the thing is that form what ive read usually the battery symbol is on while charging from 0% but its not

how much do you think metro stores ask for a battery and if i have metro
insurance would the battery be free?

Hi thatguy96, the same thing happen to to me about 3 weeks ago, I notice it started after changing my voltage settings on one of the kernels that I downloaded and installed, can't remember which one now, but any way l went to metro corporate store and they said that I had to send it to Samsung and that they would give me new one. So that meant that I had to have a spare immediately, I went ahead and made a purchase before leaving the Metro store. I bought the combo battery charger, it has a compartment on the back that your battery fit in for charging and the front has a slot to hold you phone. When I got home I put my battery that wouldn't charge in and it charged up within 3 hours. I had tried everything to get it to charge and nothing worked for me but this, after charging that battery fully I haven't had anymore problems with charging it with any method that I choose! Strange, but I hope this helps you in some way! :)

like average wonder said they have oem gs3 batteries on ebay, but since its your phone and im sure u need it to work like now yea best bet to take it to metro corp i think can a replacement fairly qucik if not the next business day.

thanks for all the helpful responses everyone. I'm going to go to the metro corp store and just try to argue my way to a free battery or a discounted one lol. If no success, i'll just buy it. The reason that i'd rather not get one on ebay is because im paranoid. A lot of the oem branded ones on eBay turn out to be fake as my friend unfortunately found out. He bought one from a seller with 96% credibility and the battery turned out to be a generic one in which nfc would not work even though it was claimed to be an authentic battery.
