Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] Photo's won't delete?

Hunter5

After flashing Metropolis ROM I have 4 photo's in my gallery that I can not delete, doesn't give me the option. If I take a new photo the option is there for the new pic but not for the original 4. Sorry for the dumb question I"m still learning this stuff but how do I delete this pics. Tried connecting phone to pc and searching folders but can't locate.

Thanks in advance for the help!!

I think I saw a couple other people in the metropolis thread with this same problem. I don't know how or if they were able to solve it.

Have you tried deleting them with a file manager? It could be that those files were moved and what shows in the gallery is the ghost is why you can't delete. With file manager you can find where the originals are. If you have flashed any 4.2 roms (cm10.1 or liquidsmooth) you can try looking in your data/media folder. Good luck.

Go into settings/apps and find the gallery app. Click clear data. It will erase all "synced" photos that aren't saved onto a physical portion of the phone. Enjoy

Yep..that did it!!

Thanks for the help. Learning more everyday!:D

Go into settings/apps and find the gallery app

I'm lost already.

In settings I can find "Application manager" but there's no "Gallery" app in there.

If I go to the gallery app itself it has a 'settings' thing but the only setting available is if or not to only use wifi for syncing. It shows my email as "Sync disabled" - not sure if I did that while poking around earlier or if already disabled.

There are 2 pics I can't get rid of, both have the picasso (picasa?") logo.

As far as I'm aware I don't HAVE a picasa account. When I go to the website it just asks if I want to download some software, doesn't seem to be a site I can log into, nor does my password manager recognize it as a login url.

So how exactly am I supposed to get into this picasa thing in order to delete these pics?

They don't appear to be on the phone, connected to my PC a search for the file name produces nothing, nor can I find it via Astro file manager.

OK, let me try downloading the NSA spy software, so I can "tag" everyone for them...

Oh hell no, it wants to search my PC for images to stick online? Christ, Google is creepy as hell. Nope, uninstalling the spyware... Done.

Apart from installing spyware, how else does one access one's picassa account one didn't know one had?

??

Aha, update, selecting "All" in the app manager allowed me to eventually find the gallery, and finally this worked.

Yay!

Thanks! I still think Google is creepy though...

one more thing to add is make sure you uncheck the syncing option for wherever thos photos came from.. whether it be facebook, google crap etc.. or they'll just come back LOL
