Good find on that one too, seems you probably can't go wrong with either one.

Ps Mike, you should be use to my ninja ways :P

Thanks will have to give these a try. And with the update the phone is only able to be flashed to a touchwiz ROM right? Meaning no cm or PAC ROMs right?

nah you can do whatever you want as soon as you have recovery

Even with Knox? Does the phone have Knox? Sorry I don't know much about the metro s3. Its my uncles and I'm trying to help him root it. I thought with Knox you couldn't do anything as far as roms

Also after I root it to get recovery in my device i flash cwm via ROM installer. Can I just use that or do I have to do it thru adb or a toolkit? Does your toolkit have recovery flash shabby? Anyone try ROM installer before to flash recovery? I use to use image flash GUI but unfortunately it doesn't work with the s3

i always use goo manager to flash TWRP, knox is just a security flag to let samsung know you flashed stuff to it. it doesnt stop anything :)

I used shabbys toolkit to root. Thanks shabby! I used ROM installer to install cwm touch :) I ran su reboot nvbackup thru terminal. I had to manually install su after the tool kit because of Knox. I kept getting an error saying about unauthorised access and su kept crashing.

My question is when I rooted my vzw s3 and backed up NV there was a second "plan b" with synergy ROM ( I can find the link but I'm on mobile right know) does the d2mtr have a simmaler way to make an off phone backup of NV? I couldn't find anything on it.

it was actually found that nv didnt need backing up, because this doenst have a true efs partition (verizon is gsm unlocked we arent) there is a dialer code normally called ##rtn# that will perform a nv wipe and then you can do the hands free activation again :)
