the ROM you are running. Are you using BB? i get it from BB when i am changing navbar or other options in rom control.

Check your su privilege managing app (superuser, superSU...) and check the logs.
It should let you know what app got what permission.
And deny whatever looks fishy there.
You don't want things you don't know having superuser privilege on your phone!

That's one of the things I wish was made clearer to rooted folks.
Just because you can, don't give that permission to any old app willy nilly.
When an app gets that permission, your ENTIRE device is open to it.
It's can be very difficult to trace what an app is actually doing, let alone kill it once it gains root privileges on a device.
Keep that in mind. ;)

Hey tiede it literally just says it has been given permission but it never asked me if i would ALLOW it to get permission thats the wierd thing...and it says "shell" for the app infor and it was giving permission like 10 within 1 minute..wierd whwm it happens again i will post a pic

I've had this happen to me too when I was rooted using stock rom..... Once I switched over to cm haven't seen it.

eliminate the source by trying to figure out when does it try to access super user rights. for example does it do it when you try to tether with open garden? or does it do it when you open another app? or does it do it when your not doing anything at all on your phone ? if it does it when your not doing anything with your phone then i would use root explorer and dig into system/apps and see whats being called shell from there i would rename the file extension from .apk. to .bak or whatever and reboot the phone and see if anything acts out of the ordinary, usually an app that needs that file in order to work wil notify you that the app had to forceclose for whatever ever reason and from there you can find out why your phone has that shell running in the background.

The same thing is happening to me to it seems to happen when I turn on airplane mode on then off, but not all the time just sometimes and when I'm on the Internet while I just turned off airplane mode so can anyone help us please its so annoying because when it happens it kicks me out of what ever I was doing. Thanks for your time,.

Ok I read it and does it say that mksh is shell so am I supposed to delete it or what? Idk please help this shell problem is annoying

Ok I noticed that shell gets granted permission when 4G switches to 3g

I know that I run HTC Sense and you don't (duh lol) but from what I am reading here, I think that you all might really want to check out our thread on this -

On SuperSU for me it showed the actual full request, and because it's network related, my dog tells me that you all might have a very similar thing happening.

No guarantees but my dog is usually pretty clever. ;) :)

hey mon long time no see give your dog a biscuit!!

It hasnhappen to me today but is there anyway to deny this? Normally it just gets granted permissions automatically?the funny thing its on "prompt" but still get access to it automatically...other programs do ask me if i would grant them permission..

Quoted for truth.

Check your superuser app to revoke the privilege.

I notice when i side loaded google now, i keep getting ask for permission and it wouldn't work cause i always denied permission for something unknown kept popping up. After granting permission google now started to work, but funny thing is i check the log in su and there's nothing there. Also i'm on AOKP.

I'm on aokp, and google now never asked me for root permissions... and it shouldn't need it, as far as I know...
Try making it a system app instead.

tried that and it would close soon as i click the mic to voice search, so i just left it where it is. ;)
